5 August, 2023

Local Server

Minecraft, the beloved sandbox game, offers players the freedom to explore vast landscapes and embark on thrilling adventures in both single-player and multiplayer modes. If you've set up your own Minecraft server on your local network and want to join it from the comfort of your server list, this article will guide you through the process of adding a local server to your Minecraft server list.

Server List

Understanding Local Servers:

A local server refers to a Minecraft server that is hosted on your home network, allowing you to play with friends and family without the need for an external hosting service. Hosting a local server provides you with more control over the game environment and the ability to customize server settings to your preferences.

Server Settings

Server IP and Port:

Before adding a local server to your server list, you'll need to find its IP address and port number. To do this, access the server settings or server properties file, where the IP and port information is usually located. The default port for Minecraft is 25565.

Logging into Minecraft:

Launch Minecraft on your computer and log in with your Mojang or Microsoft account. Once logged in, you'll be taken to the main menu, where you can access various game options.

Navigating to Multiplayer:

To add a local server to your server list, navigate to the "Multiplayer" section of the main menu. Here, you'll find a list of servers you've previously added or saved.

Adding a Server:

Click on the "Add Server" button to open the server adding interface. Here, you'll need to enter the server's IP address and port number. Additionally, give your server a memorable and recognizable name, as it will appear in your server list.

Connecting to the Local Server:

Once you've added the server details, click "Done" to save your changes. Your local server will now appear in your server list with the name you provided. Click on the server name to connect to it.

Joining the Local Server:

After selecting your local server from the list, click "Join Server" to connect to it. If everything is set up correctly, you'll find yourself in your own Minecraft world hosted on your local server.

Server Settings and Customization:

As the administrator of your local server, you have the power to customize various aspects of gameplay, such as game mode, difficulty, world generation, and more. Refer to the server settings and configurations to tailor your Minecraft experience to your liking.

Adding a local server to your Minecraft server list opens up a world of possibilities for playing with friends and family in a familiar environment. By following the simple steps outlined in this article, you can connect to your local server seamlessly and enjoy the freedom of hosting and customizing your Minecraft world to create unforgettable gaming moments. So, embark on your local server journey and explore the endless adventures that Minecraft has to offer, all within the comfort of your server list.
